The Reverend Peter C. Cage was born and raised in Rolling Meadows, Illinois—a northwest suburb of Chicago. He graduated from the College of Commerce and Business Administration at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He worked as a Management Information Consultant in the Chicago office of Arthur Andersen & Company before enrolling at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne in 1987.

After marrying Patty (nee Pearson) in June of 1989, they moved west where he served his vicarage at Trinity, Palo Alto, California. He was granted the Master of Divinity degree in May 1991, and then served as the Graduate Assistant for the Department of Systematic Theology during the 1991-92 academic year.

Pr. Cage was ordained into the Office of the Holy Ministry on January 10, 1993 and installed that same day as pastor to the dual parish of St. John’s and Zion Evangelical Lutheran Churches in Pierce and Hoskins, Nebraska. Beginning in February of 1998, he served as the Campus Pastor for Ball State University, and as Assistant and later, Associate Pastor at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Muncie.

In 2001, Pr. Cage was awarded the Master of Sacred Theology (STM) degree from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne.

In the summer of 2007, he, Patty, and their five children (Emily, Elizabeth, Michelle, Conor and Cameron) moved to Fort Wayne where Pr. Cage was installed as the ninth Senior Pastor of historic St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Pr. Cage served as a chaplain in the U.S. Army Reserve and the National Guard of both Nebraska and Indiana at various times from 1989 to 2005. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis, and as a member of the Commission on Worship of the Indiana District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
